Gallery Walk Shopping Tamborine Mountain

With its unusual and vibrantly coloured shops, art galleries, wineries, restaurants and cafes, Gallery Walk shopping precinct is definitely one of Tamborine Mountain’s most well-known and popular visitor attractions. A must see place to visit whilst on Mount Tamborine!

There is so much to see and do on Gallery Walk, with exciting shops full to the brim with original artworks, paintings and sculptures, glass works, pottery, ceramics, antiques, jewelry and clothing, to name but a few.

There are also tons of fun and frivolous shops selling gifts, sweets, nic-nacs and souvenirs of Tamborine Mountain to take home to your family and friends.

The crowds, the aromatic smells, the character of the locals and visitors alike add up to a wonderful shopping experience! Retail Therapy is good for you right?

A really indulgent and personally rewarding way to spend some time whilst visiting Gallery Walk is to ‘Taste Test’ some of the yummy award winning products of Tamborine Mountain. There is wine tasting at the award winning local wineries cellar doors – one of a kind locally brewed and award winning ales at the local boutique Brewery – delicious world class cheeses as well as cheese making classes and mouth-watering fudges with some naughty alcoholic adults only varieties to try.

And much, much more…..

When you have walked enough and your legs are feeling tired and you feel that you have ‘shopped until you can drop’, your mouth becomes dry or your tummy starts to rumble, take a seat at one of the aromatic cafes or restaurants, relax and soak up some of the magical unique atmosphere that is Tamborine Mountain’s Gallery Walk…. a sandwich, a prize winning pie, a coffee, a cake or a three course meal, whatever you require and desire, there is something scrumptious and delightful to suit all tastes.

  • The Glass Castle More Information

  • The Glass Castle – Everything Glass

Although all dichroic glass is imported from the U.S.A. Jenny’s designs and exclusive creations are made personally by Jenny and her team and can be found on display in her showroom or viewed on the web site.

Jenny is often asked what is DICHROIC GLASS and why work with this as a medium in the creation of her handmade glass jewellery. Dichroic Glass was developed by the NASA space program as a component for their satellite mirrors. Dichroic Glass refers to a glass containing multiple layers of metals, or oxides which give the Dichroic Glass magnificent optical properties. The main characteristic of this glass is that it has a particular TRANSMITTED colour and a COMPLETELY different REFLECTED colour as certain wavelengths of light either pass through or are reflected. The properties of the glass allow for extremely high temperatures whilst in the kiln.

It is ONLY when the Dichroic Glass is fired in a kiln that the TRUE COLOUR hue is revealed – thus NO two pieces CAN ever be made the same.

The philosophy and the training given to the staff at THE GLASS CASTLE is that all of the jewellery pieces can and should be able to be worn with more than one outfit – as well as knowing that each piece is an ORIGINAL Creation.

After a successful trip to America in August 2013 Jenny was able to secure the rights to be able to sell exclusively a range of Hand Blown Dichroic Glass vases and glass pieces by Mr. Tim Lazer whose works are recognized in galleries throughout Europe and the U.S.A.

All CUSTOM ORDERS and COMMISSION GLASS PIECES are undertaken by Jenny from her Glass Art Studio work shop with WEDDING custom orders a speciality.

CORPORATE and INTERNATIONAL enquires are also welcome.

With a back ground in graphic art design Jenny specialises in hand etched creations onto almost any glass surface, as well as MOSAIC glass wall pieces suitable for internal or external use.

Jenny is quietly confident her business will continue to expand in the area of Custom orders and Commissioned art pieces which she currently ships internationally, plus her attention to detail means each creation is UNIQUE and no two pieces are identical.

Jenny works every Sunday in her showroom at Tamborine Mountain and looks forward to meeting and greeting you there.
