Camping at Cedar Creek True Camping at Cedar Creek

Thunderbird Park on Mount Tamborine takes adventure holidays to the top. This magnificent property is less than an hour from Brisbane and Gold Coast CBDs.

Choose a shaded campsite for tents and vans in the natural bushland or on the banks of tumbling Cedar Creek. All campsites have a fire pit for cooking and easy access to well-maintained amenities. Explore the natural bushland along the walking tracks, see hundreds of colourful birds, Australian native animals and rare plants. Lucky visitors may catch a glimpse of Plato the Platypus, Thunderbird Park’s most elusive resident.

It may not be seen as traditional camping catering, but enjoy a hearty hot and cold buffet breakfast with the birds, chill out on the Terrace or dine in style in the Rainforest Grill and Lounge Bar. The Terrace serves light meals and snacks all day every day, homemade pizza from the wood-fired oven is a speciality.

A variety of attractions are available onsite including bush walks and natural rock pools for the hotter months. Add holiday excitement with a range of onsite adventures that appeal to all age groups. Tackle the adventure at the high ropes course Tree Top Challenge, play a round of Mini Golf on Thunderbird Park’s Championship Course (brand new – opened January 2015), enjoy a horse trail ride through the rainforest, find treasure filled thundereggs formed when dinosaurs roamed the earth or play laser skirmish in a jungle village setting.

If you are looking to get out for the day, the heart of Mount Tamborine is only a 5 minute drive from Thunderbird Park. Visit one of the many local wineries, admire the abundance and creativity of the local art galleries or visit the stunning 27 acre botanic gardens.

Thunderbird Park shares the rainforest property with Cedar Creek Lodges. Accommodation options range from contemporary hotel rooms to private two bedroom lodges on the banks of Cedar Creek and larger family holiday homes.

Happy Campers Tamborine Mountain Caravan and Camping Tamborine Mountain Caravan and Camping

Tamborine Mountain Caravan and Camping Park is a camping ground set amongst the trees in the northern valley of beautiful Tamborine Mountain. A spring fed creek is within walking distance of the caravan park with it has many swimming holes, a great place to cool down on a hot day. Open fires are allowed (in the designated areas at each site), you can bring your own wood, collect fallen branches or purchase wood from the shop.

We have large shady sites with or without power, at different angles and all with lovely bush aspects. For those who prefer a hassle free camping experience try our Deluxe Safari Tents, just walk in, make the bed (ask and we might even be able to do that for you) and then sit back and enjoy camping at, if not it’s best (but close), certainly it’s easiest.

We are in a property called Thunderbird Park adjacent to several business including horse riding, Adventure Parc , Laser Skirmish and Thunderegg mining. All of these activities are within a short walk of the campers. Also other Tamborine Mountain attractions are only a short drive away, like Gallery Walk and National Parks, craft shops and art galleries, cafes, restaurants and wineries. Glow worm cave and Skywalk. Tourist maps and information are available at the office.
